I lift up my eyes searching for rescue, where will my help come from? My help comes from the Lord my God who created all things in heaven and earth.
He will not allow my feet to give way. He will hold me upright in His strength. He will not sleep, no He will keep alert and ready with a watchful eye day and night.
The Lord keeps me, holds me in His hand, wraps me in His arms, bringing comfort through shade from the piercing sun and daunting moon.
The Lord will keep me safe from evil, He will rescue my soul. The Lord will plan all the comings and goings of every day of my life.
Forever.
As I opened my Bible with a heavy heart, I found myself in the book of Psalms. When tragedy strikes, it is easy to become despondent and downhearted. But our God is bigger than all the heartaches of this world. Grieving the loss of the ones we love is an inevitable part of life but thank God we are not alone. He promises to see us through the pain and lead us to healing. When we are in need of rescue, comfort, or healing He is here.
I encourage you to draw near in times of need and rely on His promise to draw near to you.
Dear Lord, I call upon Your name today, for You said all who call upon Your Name shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) I ask that you wrap your arms around those who are grieving today, comfort them, and bring peace that surpasses all understanding. (Philippians 4:7) I know that You are a good, good God with a perfect plan. (Romans 8:28) Help us to fully trust in You. Amen.
